The student dollar law has been approved by the Parliament in its session held on the 30th of September, 2020 at the UNESCO palace by a single article modification done by the joint parliamentary committees. The law now obliges banks in Lebanon to allow the payment of $10,000 for each student and at the official exchange rate of the dollar for all Lebanese students studying abroad. This applies for the year 2020-2021 but the amount cannot exceed $10, 000 and cannot be made more than once from the student’s accounts or their parents’ accounts in either foreign or national currency.
The law also allows those who do not have bank accounts to benefit from the law.
